I’ve been neglecting my blog for a very long time, and haven’t written a single word since I came to Beijing. Now I’ve been in this city for about nine months, and after everything has settled down, I think it is time to continue writing something about my life.

About The New Blog

So I started this new blog! I will be posting regularly here about my life, my thoughts, the photos I take, and the music I’m listening, etc.

I cannot bear the complex management system behind my old blog and the pink theme which I designed in 2009 (though I thought it was gorgeous when I finished the design). So this blog a brand-new start. I’ve archived my old blog in the Limbo, in case I miss it.

Also, I decided to write my new blog mainly in English. Though I read English every day, I haven’t write anything in English (except programming code) for a very, very long time. So I take writing this blog as a practice. And I think it’s nice to sometimes make a little change to the way of expressing things. However, if I think some expressions is more appropriate in Chinese, I’ll still use Chinese. I’ll try hard to avoid errors however you may still be aware of some incorrectly spelled words or grammatical errors, sorry for that.

About The New Design

My old blog was designed in 2009. I thought it was gorgeous that time, but as I learnt and grew, I found that it’s not a real good design.

There are lots of visual distractions. It doesn’t look so good because the lack of detail. It makes people confused sometime. It’s not clear and simple for people to read.

I gonna need a new design.

Here are a few things I think the new design should be like. It should be clear, without distractions and should be able to create a comfortable reading experience. It should be simple and easy by eliminating all non-essential elements and features, but there should still be lots of metaphors to make people feel like home. And all the bitmap icons should be replaced by vector ones for a “Retina Web”.

So, after a few weeks of styling and coding in my spare time, my blog finally comes out with this minimalist design. I’m not going to write more about it here. I just want to make you feel better while reading this.

It’s very easy to be different, but very difficult to be better.
